Notion Essentials Badge

The Notion Essentials Badge showcases my skills in building pages and templates for streamlining processes in sandbox tools such as Notion.

My Learnings:

1. Notion Functions and Formulas

2. Building Pages to improve work efficiency and create dynamic KPI tracking

3. Monetizing through Freelance work and understanding the collabortation framework

1. Notion Functions and Formulas

Notion is an all-in-one workspace encompassing blocks and pages to manage knowledge & tasks, build databases, and visualize progress and KPIs.

The many possibilities of Notion come through the many functions that make an adaptation to all companies processes and tasks possible.

While learning, I had the pleasure of grasping what efficiency gains are possible by using centralized knowledge and task management, and how it can look a lot more beautiful than SAP.

Furthermore, there is a key parallel to learning spreadsheet tools such as Excel and Google Sheets: Formulas. Notions Formulas remind of simple backend coding and empower the user to set rules for data visualization, for instance, through nested if-functions.

2. Building Pages

When building pages, there is a good framework called “bulletproof” from William Nutt, explained in this video

This is the principle I use as well. In centralized databases, you have single points of truth, and teams see the relevant infos for the through individualised views and dashboards of the data and tasks.

The teams have info pages for knowledge, policies, SOP (standard operating procedures), and action pages for task management with factors like priority and effort.

3. Freelance work: Fiverr

Starting freelance on Fiverr felt simple once I focused on one clear service, showed 2–3 tight examples, and replied fast. I kept gig text short, used plain language, and sent a friendly “what to expect” message right after each order.

Delivering a first draft early (even if rough) opened the door to quick fixes, which clients loved. I also asked for specific feedback (“Which part should be clearer?”), then turned good answers into tiny templates for next time.

I’m not 100% sure this works for every niche, but clear scope + fast communication + small iterations made orders smooth and reviews strong

My Conclusion

Earning the Notion Essentials Badge pushed me to turn notes into repeatable systems. I use one single source of truth, Bulletproof-style pages so each team sees what matters, and formulas (like Excel IFs) to auto-update KPIs. The same mindset helped on Fiverr: narrow scope, fast replies, quick drafts, small iterations. It may not fit every team, but the core holds—centralize, standardize, automate.
